We helped on the construction of Ron Howard’s film adaptation: In the Heart of the sea. We supplied and fitted the entire set with Period Glass to recreate the small American town of Nantucket at Leavesden Studios, Hertfordshire. Period Glass is a handmade blown glass which helps to create an illusion of the historic town on set. The closing scene is just a small glimpse of our work that appears throughout the film.
Look out for cars and bodies being smashed through our commercial glass in the sixth instalment of The Fast and Furious franchise! The stunt and car chase scenes began filming on location in Glasgow and we were behind the scenes and watching the action. Our fitters were there to reinstall large pieces of toughened safety glass after each take. Here is a behind the scene shot of a MBW crashing into our five metre by thirty-five metre “office” that our fitters had to build within a week!
We was again a part of a detailed recreation of Greenwich Village, New York City, at London’s Pinewood Studios. We supplied and fitted laminated glass, shop front glass and even a beautiful stained glass window for the backdrop of the bedroom scene. The finished recreation of Greenwich Village is overwhelmingly realistic and we are proud to say that we helped with this exciting project. Here is a nerving scene in which you can see our work.
